I started this page for a source of information for those who want to learn more about nyc rock dance and what is commonly called breakdancing or want to learn how to preform it through a authentic source . With a lack of availability on Quality Material available as well access to this information world wide.
I hope this page will act as a source for quality material to help future rockers maintain the art form. Like every art form there is a foundation of particular characteristics that define that art genre. What I have compiled in my videos Is not only one particular style or dancers style but it’s information I have noted and refined from years 20 of experience in the nyc dance scene and growing up born and raised in the Mecca of the art form (the Bronx ) . I hope these video will help add a different perspective to the art form . My main goal is to help inspire create and maintain the dance I grew up watching and participating in since I was a child growing up in the Bronx .The main elements are style finess and class. Any one can learn and benefit from the physical aspects of dancing. Rockers typically Dance an entire song for 4 To 5 minutes with unlimited back to back songs and typically don’t touch the floor .. bboys however typically dance for a shorter more dynamic and energetic period on the break of a song and more body awareness and physical ability are needed to preforme a multitude of floor moves footwork patterns spins flips and freezes. Your physical and rythmical abilitys typically dictates what Dance best suits you . I break down steps tips tricks and grooves to help with a a wide range of nyc Rock and Bboy styles the you be the life of any party or event where dance is a focus..
I have posted many Rock videos for the ease of learning the Rock dance.. its fun and easy to enjoy for the bboying part I like to do private sessions ...
My experience teaching has led me to realize that mobility ability is a huge factor into building great form and impressive speed . My main study in the art now a days is more on improving on physical limitations and strength . I have wrote a lot of great notes on the topic as there really is no information that is geared specifically towards the physical training that goes into breakdancing.
Because of this reason my one on one sessions are focused on posture and form structure power and strength in various positions flexibility dexterity agility and speed. If you book a session with me you should already have a understanding of basic concepts and if you are not familiar with the culture and basics online training routine will be Necessary to get your mobility up to speed for more advance training. My sessions are not just steps and sets for you to do but a more detailed look into the concepts and training methods that will be unique go you and your ability In turn developing your own identity in the Bboy or Rock underground scene I hope this helps anyone out there who is trying to get better no matter what your level or status is. My hope is eventually my training ideas will be common place on every studio and practice from beginner to advanced much love to all the bgirls , bboys and rockers keeping the culture alive
